Not a day that passes by when there isn’t some new famous couple calling it quits.  It’s almost unlikely to keep pace with all the celebrity breakups and splits, but what surprises fans the most is hearing about these same famous partners trying love again. While celebrity couples appear to have fairytale relationships, many have had to overcome the degree of difficulty to arrive at where they are now.

Every now and then, celebrities have admitted that splitting up with their now-spouse was a mistake; others have defended the separation as a necessary and healthy step toward a more productive life. Giving things a second opportunity is sometimes worthwhile, but the third time may not be the charm. While some celebrity couples, such as Kate Middleton and Prince William, have shown that a break is vital to develop a relationship. Others, such as Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber, should have done so the first time around. We’re going to take a glance at all the celebrity couples who’ve been on and off so much it’ll make you feel like you’re on a rollercoaster ride.

Angelina Jolie & Brad Pitt

The romance of these high-profiled actors was one of the most popular in Hollywood, and also the most heartbreaking. To briefly break down their relationship, the two met in 2004 after they were cast for the movie, Mr. and Mrs. Smith. They reportedly “fell in love” that time even though Brad was still married to Jennifer Aniston — they eventually parted ways in March 2005. Consequently, Pitt and Jolie confirmed that they were expecting their firstborn in January 2006. Later, with a total of six children, the Brangelina couple officially tied the knot in 2014. Unfortunately, the couple called it quits in 2016, leaving their fans heartbroken.

Currently, the two are busy with their acting careers. Jolie took the credit as one of the Eternals in Marvel Cinematic Universe and is not romantically linked with anyone. Pitt, on the other hand, is rumored to be rekindling his romance with his first wife, Jennifer Aniston.
